Wardell Armstrong were delighted to win the Professional Service of the Year award at this year’s Staffordshire Chamber Business Awards.

The Professional Service of the Year award was sponsored by finest and recognises excellence within a professional services company, business or organisation. The award relates to the specific service(s), leadership, management, staff development and training, social responsibility, future growth plans and business sustainability.

Independent environmental and engineering consultancy Wardell Armstrong is advising its clients that the outcome of the referendum on 23 June does not change the validity of the current legislative framework for protected species and habitats as governed by relevant EU Directives. Survey protocols, evidence gathering and assessment also remain unchanged.

Director, Mark Bedford has recently been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the CIWM Enterprises Ltd Board. CIWME Ltd is the commercial arm of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management that provides training and other related services to the Waste Industry.

Mark joined Wardell Armstrong in 1991 and has over 30 years’ experience in the waste and mining industry. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, a Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the IMMM. He has worked both in the UK and overseas as a Project Manager leading multi-disciplinary teams and has given evidence at public inquires. He manages the waste, water and mining Teams at our Head Office in Stoke-on-Trent.

Wardell Armstrong has opened a new office in central Manchester to accommodate the increased demand for its services in the North of England. Our new office comes as part of an expansion plan that has resulted in a number of new Wardell Armstrong offices over the last 12 months, and relocation to larger premises for others.

Wardell Armstrong has opened a new office in central Glasgow to support the growing success of business in Scotland. The move follows an expansion of our Edinburgh premises in September last year.

Landscape and Public Realm Design Appointment

Wardell Armstrong’s Landscape Team are thrilled to be appointed by the BioQuarter Project Partners (Scottish Enterprise, NHS Lothian, the University of Edinburgh and City of Edinburgh Council) to lead the landscape and public realm proposals for major developments within the Masterplan area.

Christine Blackmore, Associate Director at Wardell Armstrong has recently been appointed IOM3 Mining Technology Board Chairman.

She officially took over the position on 28 January 2016 from Pat Foster (Camborne School of Mines).

Christine will hold the position for 4 years.
