Wardell Armstrong led and co-ordinated the production of two planning applications and project managed the subsequent determination including the public engagement in support of the redevelopment of two long standing derelict sites adjacent to the Newcastle Helix regeneration area. In addition to the planning advice, the Wardell Armstrong team prepared technical reports on noise, air quality, ground investigation, flood risk, drainage and sustainability appraisals. Key issues related to the potential loss of daylight for adjacent properties, ensuring that sustainable drainage measures could be achieved and that the proposed scheme complemented the significant investment that had been made into the adjacent Helix site.
