Wardell Armstrong Achieves ISO19650-2 BIM Accreditation!

Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Engineering processes offer many benefits, realised through improved communication between asset owners, designers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders, as well as improved working efficiencies and reduced potential for errors.

In recognition of our investment in this rapidly developing area, our Stoke-on-Trent office is the first to receive accreditation to ISO19650-2, covering the full range of services that we offer. This latest accreditation complements our existing ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditations; providing confidence that the full range of in-house services and technical disciplines that we offer is to the very highest standards within the industry, whether that is civil and structural engineering, landscape design, ground engineering, ecology or archaeology and heritage.

We recognise that the real world isn’t built in 2 dimensions, so instead of traditional 2D drawings, this smart process allows unlocks greater understanding of the whole lifecycle of a project and how it interacts with its environment. Conveying complex and ever-changing information clearly in an easily understandable and accessible way can prove essential when securing planning permissions or operating complex assets and investments, as it allows decision makers to have the confidence assess the impacts of your development.

Communication and reliability are therefore at the heart of Digital Engineering, bringing together planning, detailed design and specification in one process.

This state-of-the-art digital process brings together research, data and designs from each part of your project to create a virtual space where a development can be refined, developed, tested and issues mitigated before building costs are incurred. This process provides clear opportunities for cost and risk reduction, whilst improving quality and deliverability by identifying conflicts and clashes at the design stage.

We are committed to delivering a fully-coordinated service to our clients, unlocking the depth of knowledge from experts across our full range of services. As part of our commitment, we are aligning our service delivery to be compliant with and accredited to ISO19650-2, the International Standard for built asset information management.

Our continued investments extends to use of the latest design, collaboration and software tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Tekla and GIS (ESRI and QGIS) to develop, create and accommodate an information rich model for each BIM project. Where required, we are also able to host, manage or input into an existing Common Data Environment (CDE), providing our clients with interoperable and increasingly data rich services.
