United Downs Deep Geothermal Power Project
Wardell Armstrong was commissioned to further assist with the planning and environmental assessment for the United Downs Deep Geothermal Project. We were originally commissioned in 2010 to produce an Environmental Impact Assessment and a planning application for what would be the UK’s first large-scale geothermal energy plant. With project finance in place, more recent work has included seeking planning to improve site access as well as creating additional car parking and office accommodation. A secondary planning application was submitted in 2017, following consent additional work has been undertaken discharging planning conditions relating to this and the original consent.
