Kitwe Copper-Cobalt Tailings Retreatment
Wardell Armstrong International were involved in the process development of a Cu-Co tailings retreatment project in Zambia.
Following a preliminary mineralogical investigation, a detailed suite of bench-scale flotation and hydrometallurgical tests, including agitated leaching, solvent extraction and precipitation testing, were undertaken for flowsheet design and optimisation purposes.
A pilot plant campaign was undertaken to provide proof of concept and to generate bulk samples of concentrate and tailings for vendor testing.
