Feasibility Study, Mahd Ad Dahab Open Pit Gold Mine, KSA
In 2022, Wardell Armstrong International successfully completed a Feasibility Study for the development of a 3.5Mtpa open pit at the Mahd Ad Dahab mine site in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Our team completed many of the technical demands for the project in-house, additionally managing international engineering firms contracted to deliver elements of the process plant design and site infrastructure. The study presented significant technical difficulties, particularly resulting from the need to sink the open pit through extensive historic underground workings. Yet through the application of modern remote mining technology, we were able to devise safe mining practices that supported the desired production schedule.
