Beaw Field Windfarm
Wardell Armstrong was appointed as the EIA Coordinator for a 57MW Wind Farm on the remote island of Yell. The 1,158ha site was heavily constrained due to the presence of deep peat, a large red-throated diver population and two SSSIs bordering the site. The Wardell Armstrong team comprised of land surveyors, civil engineers and hydrologists who carried out a reconnaissance survey, as well as specialist experts consulting on ornithology, landscape and visual impact assessments, noise assessments and technical assessments relating to carbon balance, aviation and telecommunications. Additionally, an Outline Construction Environmental Management Plan for the site was prepared.
