Alnwick Portfolio Energy Strategy
Wardell Armstrong was commissioned to undertake a feasibility for an energy strategy at Alnwick Castle and Gardens as well other land holdings of the Northumberland Estate. The aim was to consider low carbon and renewable sources, most notably Gas CHP and ground mounted solar, that could be used to meet the energy demand of the Estate. The assessment focused on technical and financial viability, whilst also highlighting environmental, social and political constraints. The work also included a viability assessment of an additional scenario whereby heat and power was supplied to local businesses and tenants located on Estate land.
