Planning Permission Secured for Solar Farm that will Provide Green Energy to +7,000 Homes

We are delighted to have secured planning permission on behalf of Renewable Connections for the Strathruddie Farm solar and battery storage development in Fife. The consent is for 25MWp of solar and 20MW of battery storage and allows for either fixed or tracking solar panels. This is the first Renewable Connections solar/battery project in Scotland.

Wardell Armstrong provided all planning and assessment work, including landscape and visual assessment, ecology, archaeology, heritage, traffic, noise, drainage and access and soils. We also provided the planning assessment and design and access statement, and assisted in the online community consultation exercise.

The proposal was granted planning permission at committee unanimously earlier this month. Strathruddie Solar Farm will make a meaningful contribution to Fife’s energy needs by delivering green energy to over 7,000 homes annually.
