The Second Tallest Building in Britain, One Lansdowne Road – Planning Approval
At Wardell Armstrong we are delighted that our client, Guildhouse Rosepride has secured approval from Croydon’s planning committee for their iconic One Lansdowne Road development.
The planning committee voted unanimously to approve the ambitious scheme which, peaking at 236 metres, will be taller than Canary Wharf and is only eclipsed by The Shard, which is 95 floors and 310 metres high. The approval, which consists of two towers, one of 68 storeys and one of 41 storeys, linked by an 11-storey podium structure, will become the second tallest building in Britain.
Subject to the plans being signed off by the Mayor of London, it will feature 794 residential units (of which 120 are affordable), 35,000m2 of premium office space, retail, a swimming pool and gym, a bar, restaurant and public viewing gallery offering panoramic views across the capital and Surrey, which at the 68 floor will be the highest in London.
Wardell Armstrong has been involved with a number of the scheme iterations over a period of time and has provided Environmental Assessment advice and Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Advice. We will now be assisting the Team with discharging a number of the planning conditions as the scheme moves forward towards delivery.
