GIS Day 2022!
Happy GIS Day!
What is GIS? Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a system that captures, creates and manages digital data. The data is linked geospatially, allowing it to be analysed and visually observed based on its specific location. This helps users of GIS understand patterns, relationships and geographic content to make better informed decisions, improve communication and work more efficiently.
At Wardell Armstrong, we have GIS users across our offices and service areas using a range of software including ESRI applications (desktop, online and mobile applications) and QGIS, where we are collecting and leveraging digital data to analyse and display key information to support our assessments and our clients with ongoing projects. This includes using mobile applications, such as ArcField Maps on site to collect information using a mobile or tablet device, through to using desktop applications to run geospatial tools and analysis, as well as producing drawings and figures.
By implementing and improving digital workflows such as GIS, it helps us and our clients work more sustainably. Wardell Armstrong has been carbon neutral since 1st April 2020.
If you would like to discuss how we can provide you with GIS support or deliverables, please do not hesitate to contact us.
