Water Management

Water Management

Water-related issues need serious consideration as an integral part of mine and quarry design. We help our clients think about them in a holistic way – avoiding duplicated cost and effort, quite apart from the potentially catastrophic effects of uncontrolled outflows and flooding.

The key to understanding the movement of groundwater within a mining/quarrying environment is having a thorough understanding of the geological, structural and geotechnical environment in which a mine is being developed. By assessing water volumes and flows in terms of potential impacts on both operational and environmental aspects of mining operations, we can help you to establish an effective water management strategy. Hydrology and hydrogeology are included as modifying factors for both the JORC and NI 43-101 reporting codes.

Our expert water management team can help you with third party, publicly available and site specific data review, conceptualisation, site investigation design including drilling investigations, hydraulic parameter investigations and development of monitoring programmes, site supervision, contract administration, data review including analytical and numerical solutions, assessment and design of appropriate water control and management strategies, and the production of internationally compliant reports.
