Urban Design is about
people and the places in which they go about their daily lives.
Primarily it is about understanding, listening to and appreciating the concerns
and aspirations of the users of a place, developing an awareness of the place
itself (its strengths and weaknesses) and delivering informed, sustainable
proposals for change which integrate with the day to day life of the place. It
is a process that should be driven by creativity and innovation tempered
by common sense and a robust methodology. It is about ensuring equality of
access to all those who use the places and spaces within our towns and cities. |
