Transfer Loading Stations

Transfer Loading Stations

Transfer loading stations are the unsung heroes in the waste management treatment infrastructure chain. Although often simple and unglamorous, they're fundamental in driving efficiency into waste collection and transportation services. They serve as the middleman between waste collection vehicles and the final treatment or disposal facility that can often be some distance from the source of the waste.

As well as enabling waste collection vehicles to spend more time collecting waste and less time transporting it to treatment facilities, they also allow larger, articulated vehicles to be used in onward transportation. This reduces the cost and environmental impacts of transporting the waste, and keeps heavy goods vehicle movements on our roads to a minimum.

We've delivered many transfer loading station facilities for our clients over the years, both as part of long term local authority waste contracts and as standalone facilities. You can rely on our understanding of waste operations and logistics and our knowledge of what facilities will work technically, environmentally and commercially. From intelligent site selection to detailed design and construction, our in-house teams have done it all.
