WAI
provides a number of support services to client and partner companies at the
implementation stage. These have
included:
Over the last ten years WAI staff have project managed several complex,
multi-partner, collaborative projects.
These include resource studies for the UK DTI, ODA, Czech Department of
Environment, European Commission, utilities and local government.
Other activities in this area have included co-ordinating a tri-partite (UK,
Spain, Ireland) market study into the potential for small scale ‘Kit of Parts’
community built wind clusters and a 1M€ research programme to develop a
multi-megawatt direct drive generator for wind turbines involving eight
international partners.

Following the Rio and
Kyoto summits it is the wish of all signatory governments
to reduce global CO2 emissions.
Renewable energy sources have a role to play but need a strategic framework to
make a significant impact. To this
end, WAI has helped national, regional and local governments frame renewable
energy strategies and set appropriate targets for local authorities.
We have also been involved in developing renewable
energy strategies and target
development (2010 and 2020) for regional authorities and local
government.
With the recent dramatic increase in fossil fuel prices, industry is now turning
to renewable energy as a serious alternative.
WAI’s experience in this area enables it to develop realistic and cost effective
renewable energy strategies for clients to future proof their energy costs.
