Dr Phil Newall is a Mining
Geologist with over 20 years experience of providing consultancy services to
minerals companies throughout the world, with particular specialisation in CIS,
Europe, Central and West Africa, China and South America.
Phil has developed an extensive portfolio of exploration and mining-related
contracts, from project management through to technical audits of a large
variety of metalliferous (specifically gold and base metals) and industrial
mineral deposits. In South America, these include a technical
due diligence for Warrior (Standard Bank) of a number of copper
assets in Chile, and geological supervision of the Camp Caiman project in French
Guyana.
Phil began his career as an exploration geologist with the Robertson Group,
working extensively on gold and base metal projects
in North Africa, before moving on to pursue a PhD in exploration geochemistry.
This was followed by a period as lecturer at Camborne School of Mines, in
conjunction with an active role as a consulting geologist. From there, he moved
on to become Senior Consulting Geologist, then Technical Director and now
Director with Wardell Armstrong International (formerly CSMA
Consultants Limited).
