John Eyre has over 30
years experience in the international minerals industry as, variously, mineral
surveyor, minerals and environmental manager, lecturer, consultant and mineral
agent in over 30 countries throughout the world. He has headed minerals market
analysis, environmental auditing, environmental impact assessment, technical and
economic studies, over the last 15 years. Most recently this has included work
in Armenia (EBRD), Albania (NATO grant), Bosnia-Herzegovina (EU programme),
Ghana (World Bank funded), Mexico, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, (EIA), Namibia,
Jamaica and Costa Rica (DfID).
His knowledge of technical and
environmental matters in the world-wide mining industry, cover
the full range of minerals from aggregates and industrial minerals to metals,
ferrous and non-ferrous, energy minerals and precious stones. He is currently
undertaking EIA’s and audits for open-pit and underground extraction in 3
polymetallic sites in the former Soviet states,
including smelting sites. He has recently completed a review of International
Centres and Networks of Excellence in Central and South America on behalf of the
Global Centre for Post Mining Regeneration. He has been recognised as an
international expert for a number of research forum on hazardous
waste disposal and underground mining in addition to acting as expert witness in
legal cases.
