In Vessel Composting Facilities

In Vessel Composting Facilities

In vessel composting is a key part of an effective strategy for dealing with bio-degradable material such as food and garden wastes. It also provides an important treatment option for dealing with animal by-products in a compliant way. As well as promoting microbial breakdown of waste materials in a controlled, low oxygen environment, it produces environmentally friendly compost as the end result.

IVC facilities may at first glance appear to be relatively low tech. But their development still needs to be approached carefully, from initial site selection and getting the planning and EIA properly addressed through to final commissioning and successful operation. Much of the success of any project depends on making the right decisions at the right time, and you can rely on our advice at every stage.

We've been involved in the delivery of some of the largest IVC facilities in the UK, working with leading IVC technology providers and developers. Using our waste planning and EIA expertise, we've successfully delivered planning for a total of more than 125,000 tonnes of treatment capacity - often on sites in challenging locations. You can count on our complete understanding of the operational requirements of IVC facilities, including the detailed requirements of the animal by-products regulations.
