Groundwater Modelling

Groundwater modelling is a particularly useful tool in assessing various 'what if’ scenarios and can provide a cost effective method for the future management of groundwater in a project area, such as the location and design of dewatering boreholes at a mine site.

Our staff are experienced in using numerical models to simulate flow through porous and fractured media. A number of models are currently in use to simulate groundwater flow, solute transport and geotechnical processes and include MODFLOW (GW Vistas) AQUA3D, Landsim FLOWPATH, MODPATH and SEEPW.

Specific areas of numerical modelling include:

  • Pumping Test Analysis

  • Aquifer Evaluation

  • Groundwater Resource Evaluation

  • Mine Dewatering

  • Wellfield Design

  • Stream-aquifer interaction analysis
