Exploration Services

Given the massive investment needed for a successful mineral exploration programme, an initial study is critical in determining whether deposits are potentially commercially viable to extract. Expert planning, management and supervision are needed to optimise costs. We provide a wide range of exploration services and consultancy from greenfield exploration through to feasibility studies.

We often start with a desktop study - a review of historical data, technical reports and maps including geological, topographical, high resolution satellite/LIDAR survey and aerial photography that can result in great savings in time and money.

An accurate geological map is one of the most important outputs of a successful exploration study – guiding future decisions on mapping, drilling, geochemistry, geophysics and mine planning.

Sampling and drilling need to be planned and supervised carefully to make sure that samples are representative of the area, supported by appropriate QA/QC procedures and undertaken within international best practice guidelines so the resulting data can be used in mineral resource estimates.

The same applies of course to database management and GIS. We can help here too – compiling and integrating many types of datasets from basic geological and topographical maps to 2D or 3D satellite images using ARCGIS, Datamine Studio 3, Global Mapper, MapInfo and AutoCAD.
