Cultural heritage is an important driver in the
process of urban / rural regeneration and in achieving sustainable development.
Often regeneration and urban design proposals take place in historically
sensitive areas, where historic assets are vulnerable to inappropriate change.
Wardell Armstrong has a strong track record in
built heritage consultancy. Our belief is that innovative, high quality
development can co-exist and be a positive lead in the regeneration of
historically sensitive areas.
Our team is able to offer guidance in relation to
individual built heritage assets such as Listed Buildings and Scheduled
Monuments as well as area based conservation assessment and management, such as
Conservation Areas or historic parks and landscapes.
In addition to the complementary skills of our
in-house team (landscape and urban designers, archaeologists and heritage
specialists), we also partner to a range of other specialists including
Conservation Architects who input specific projects as required.
We can undertake individual, one-off commissions or
multiple projects (such as a programme of
Conservation Areas and Management Plans).
