Development |
| Wardell Armstrong has an embedded dedication and
commitment to help local communities receive sustainable benefit from mining
projects. Our work seeks to help develop empowered and more resilient
communities whilst fostering local ownership of development plans and
programmes. This includes support of capacity building, education, vocational
training, technical assistance, awareness raising, tool development and much
more. |

In particular we are able to deliver
needs-oriented services in:
- Developing integrated and
local driven community development plans
- Developing alternative sustainable
livelihood programmes that help diversify rural economic opportunities
- Promoting and implementing
programmes tackling gender issues
- Promoting and implementing
effective child labour elimination programmes
- Assisting and implementing
local community health, AIDS, and sanitation programmes
- Assisting with mine displacement and
resettlement programmes
- Providing cross-cultural
mediation and consultation and the facilitation of company community development
initiatives
- Protection and empowerment of
indigenous people
