Broomlands Residential Development - Kelso

Broomlands Residential Development - Kelso

When Eildon Housing Association commissioned the construction of a 36 unit general needs housing development at Kelso in the Scottish Borders, we were commissioned to provide full civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services.

We were responsible for commissioning, overseeing and reporting on ground investigations. This included designing permanent foul drainage systems, and obtaining technical approval from Scottish Water, as well as designing a permanent surface water drainage system with infiltration/soakaway trenches and modular geocellular drainage tank (SUDs) and obtaining technical approval from SEPA, Scottish Water and Scottish Borders Council.

Our work also included the design of estate roads and car parks and obtaining road construction consents, foundation and superstructure design (using timber-framed
construction) for all housing units, and providing certificate of design (building structures) in accordance with the structural engineers’ registration scheme for building warrant approval.
The development was completed on time and on budget.
