Seafield Depot: Welfare and Refuse

Edinburgh City Council commissioned Roberston Construction with this project to enhance welfare and general facilities at this important waste management and recycling facility. This involved a large two-storey modular welfare and administration facility along with 34 canopied refuse parking bays and vehicle storage facilities on an existing operational site.

Wardell Armstrong were commissioned by Robertson to provide civil and structural engineering services including:
• Design and detailing road, hardstanding and drainage systems and applying for relevant consents and Scottish Water approval;
• Carry out detailed geo-environmental site investigations works as well as ecological and archaeological assessments.
• Foundation and superstructure design for all structures;
• Landscape design;
• Providing Certificate of Design (Building Structures) in accordance with the Structural Engineers’ Registration Scheme for Building Warrant approval.

The project was successfully completed in May 2017.
