Energy Recovery Facility, South Street, Glasgow

Wardell Armstrong was commissioned by W.H. Malcolm Ltd in 2014 to prepare an Environmental Statement for a proposed Energy Recovery Facility in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow.

The proposals incorporated a 70m stack which had the potential to impact upon a large number of designated heritage assets within the city. Our Cultural Heritage team assessed the significance of these impacts, including the impact to a Category A Titan crane located 70m east of the site. It was concluded that the density of development and multi-period urban environment limited the experience of many assets to their immediate proximity. No objections to the scheme were raised by Historic Scotland.
